The body ages as brain speed declines. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter associated with learning and neural firing speed. “When the brain loses acetylcholine, it sends a death code to the organs and hormone-producing glands of the body that it is losing the necessary moisture to keep your brain and body well lubricated.” (Braverman, 231)
This loss also effects bone density and calcification. Our “normal” signs of aging can actually be signals to us to change our lifestyle and prevent what we think is inevitable.
As you feed your brain, you have the power to reverse these aging symptoms. Eating foods rich in choline and lecithin, exercising for increased BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor), learning new skills for increased dopamine and acetylcholine activity, and meditation are your arsenal against this process.
In the immortal words of Grace Slick, “…remember what the door mouse said, feed your head.”
